- Ammonium Chloride: Naturally Occurring Mineralogic Compound (Inorganic Compound)

Mechanism of Action:
Noscapine: Its anti-tussive effects appear to be primarily mediated by its σ–receptor agonist activity. They act centrally on the medullary cough center. It also interacts with microtubules and inhibits cancer cell proliferation. It does not cause respiratory depression or addiction at therapeutic doses.
Ammonium Chloride:Used as an expectorant due to its irritative action on the bronchial mucosa. This effect causes the production of respiratory tract fluid which in order facilitates the effective cough.
Sodium Citrate:It thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) in the nose, windpipe and lungs making it easier to cough out.
