Spectrum of Coverage:
Gram-positive bacteria
- Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin-susceptible isolates only)
- Streptococcus pneumoniae
- Streptococcus pyogenes
Gram-negative bacteria
- Escherichia coli
- Klebsiella pneumoniae
- Haemophilus influenzae
- Haemophilus parainfluenzae
- Moraxella catarrhalis
- Neisseria gonorrhoeae
Spirochetes
- Borrelia burgdorferi
Mechanism of Action:
Bactericidal action by inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis. It has activity in the presence of some β-lactamase both penicillinases & cephalosporinases, of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.

- Pharyngitis/Tonsillits
- Acute Bacterial Otitis Media
- Acute Bacterial Maxillary Sinusitis
- Acute Bacterial Exacerbations of Chronic Bronchitis
- Secondary Bacterial Infections of Acute Bronchitis
- Uncomplicated Skin & Skin-Structure Infections
- Impetigo
- Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections
- Early Lyme disease
